Fun Fact:

"The cake!  My husband and I met playing hockey as we both played our whole lives and the sport is a big passion for us.  He is a die hard Washington Capitals fan and I am a lifelong NY Islanders fan - it’s a playful rivalry we have.  I surprised him with our cake as he had no idea we were even going to have one.  It was a beautiful white, tiered, flowered, full size replica of the Stanley Cup.  The best part was when he cut inside the cake, it was blue and orange, the NY Islanders colors.  It was a fun prank that resulted in many laughs."  — Madeline

Words to live by:

  1. Give people as little information as possible regarding the details of your wedding, it adds elements of surprise, takes the pressure off, and avoids any unrealistic expectations.  If something goes wrong (which it will) and your guests don’t know what to expect, they’ll never know!
  2. Relax and enjoy it.  It goes by so quickly that you can’t afford to spend any time taking away from the 6 or so precious hours you have been planning all year.  No matter what happens or what goes wrong, at the end of the day you have everyone you love and that is important to you in one room celebrating your love - that is priceless.
